Through Pixar University, David designed and taught a 12-week CG animation production pipeline course for graduate students at Texas A&M University. The course gave his students hands-on experience from the beginning of a CG production to the end including story development, modeling, shading, lighting, layout, and animation.

The final product of the course was a 90-second animated piece based on THE BUCCANEER, a short film that David wrote and storyboarded at Pixar Animation Studios. The characters were based on the Little Tikes from TOY STORY.
